To look at something is to see what you want to see or expect to see, and is determined by your interests, your background , the window through which you look , your memories, … it says something about your vision, about clichés, about what you like …

In “Personal spot” you look through two holes in a machine to see the landscape in front of you . On the glass a layer is added. The artist draws live on the landscape and puts a layer on reality. The visitor sees the reality and drawings getting mixed live. There’s a direct interaction between the here and now. You look in the mind of the artist and see the landscape through her eyes. That way the viewer is witness to the vision, reality and ideas of the artist.

Drawing on this window creates blind spots. The view behind is blurred or invisible in some places, but the gaps in the drawing always play a role in the landscape or interior. The drawings transform reality and provides other insights. They focus on parts of reality and highlight them. Sometimes you see sharper, sometimes the bigger picture gets clearer precisely by blurring.
