Wandering Pyramid
Johannes Langkamp, 2020
Concept & Realisation: Johannes Langkamp
Production: Werktank with the support of the Flemish Authorities
A pyramid made of plastic wanders through its own geometrical body. By physically pulling a pyramid inside out, this kinetic installation by Johannes Langkamp pushes the appearance of the archetypical pyramidic shape into another visual dimension. The inherent static state of the geometrical body is questioned and playfully subverted.
The construction is ever-changing, yet eerily consistent in its motion and mission. The never ending course of the pyramid begets the question of perspective. The human wanderer can encounter the pyramid from four different viewing angles to experience the work to its full extent.
