Amélie Laurence Fortin

Amélie Laurence Fortin (°1980) is a visual artist and the general and artistic director (currently on sabbatical) of Regart, an artist-run centre dedicated to contemporary arts in Lévis (Canada). Her work has been shown in solo and group shows, in art fairs, festivals, and it is included in private and public collection both in Quebec and Europe. She was awarded the CALQ Studio residency in Berlin for all of 2020, in addition to an invitation by Werktank vzw (Leuven, Belgium) to produce a work in collaboration with the Mois Multi (Quebec City) that will be presented at Künstlerhaus Bethanien GmbH (Berlin, Germany) an Kikk Festival (Namur, Belgium).
Over the course of the last decade, the subject of exploration, territory and time became the main pillars of Amélie Laurence Fortin’s artistic practice. Using the limits that are inherent to each exhibition space as a scenographic and conceptual starting point for her projects, she has essentially turned her practice towards multidisciplinary installation in which several practices such as kinetic sculpture, objects, photography etc. are brought together.
